Today I want to briefly explain how traffic works, who manages it, and who can actually regulate it.
Three parts of the processing chain
There are three main parts in a processing setup: the platform you work on, the merchant, and the casino.
When a person wants to deposit money to play at the casino, the casino creates a payment order and sends it to you, the trader.
Withdrawals work exactly the same way. When a user wants to withdraw money from the casino, the casino creates a payout order and sends it to you.
The platform has agreements with the merchants it works with.
A real example
Let us take as an example one of the newer platforms I joined not long ago.
When I came to that new platform, there was a lot of traffic and everything worked steadily. Over time, though, the amount of traffic went down.
The reason was simple: there were more and more traders, and the agreed volume of traffic was no longer enough for everyone.
Because of that I started getting a lot of questions and complaints. People were asking:
- “Travis, can you increase my traffic?”
- “Travis, what is going on?”
- “Travis, where is the traffic?”
And many similar questions.
What a manager can and cannot do
Let me make one thing clear.I cannot directly control traffic or increase it on my own.
What I can do is go to a dedicated department inside the company and ask them to contact the merchant about traffic availability.
In reality the process is not as simple as it may look from the trader's side. It does not work like this: you come to the merchant, say “increase the traffic”, and they immediately increase it.
In practice a lot of factors affect this process. Very much depends on the speed, the resources and the technical capacity of the merchant. It depends not only on the platform — and certainly not on the manager.
That is the basic structure of how all platforms work.
